Ive been re-enacting RAF for many years now and recently decided to re-enact the 101st airborne, i just got my first M1 a few weeks ago, and im so so pleased with it, original steel shell, and liner parts, the actual liner itself is new but the straps etc are all original, as is the net ive purchased for it.
A few scratches and minor dents show wear and tear, i think ive dated it to 1944, serial code and everything still inside the helmet, and all for 10 ($20)
couldnt believe ive got it so cheap but i know alot of people, this batch came from a huge collector from norway, id reccomend everyone to stay away from buying M1's remade for films etc, sold by companies such as Soldier of fortune in the UK anyway, not sure if they are in the US.
Also could anybody help me with any websites that sell WW2 US gear? repro or original?
Thanks !
Richy
