Right now, they are an ugly PINK AND BLUE!! I tried acetone, stripper, thinner, de-greaser, and gulash. It just made the fabric that wasn't painted nice and clean! Should I just replace the webbing and salvage the hardware? I would hate to get rid of its original straps! Its a fixed bale! Farrell

Although the painted parts are solid as a rock! They would have to be "painted" khaki. I was hoping there might be some way to remove the unwanted paint, and restore the fabric to at least a half way decent condition. Thanks again, Farrell

Posts: 29 (12/27/07 11:30:42) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Did you soak them in thinners, or just dab it on, it may come off if you leave them to soak over a jar, another think that seems to get rid of Hammerite type finishes that thinners won't move is to use trichloroethane (used for dry cleaning and as a brake cleaner for automotive applications) Make sure that it is proper trichloroethane as there are more enviornmental alternatives that don't work very well compared to the real thing, also take care handling it as it is carcinogenic , ie can cause cancer, but it is very effective

I did indeed soak them in thinner for 24 hrs. Then acetone, and all sorts of stuff. All it did was make the un-touched parts look and smell nice and clean! But that is an awesome suggestion! I will try that stuff. I will let you know how it comes out! Thanks, Farrell
