I see them on jeans and trousers made today! Its called the YKK Zipper Company.
YKK was founded in Japan on January 1934 by Mr.Tadao Yoshida. The group now comprises at 84 affiliated companies in 47 countries with 222 plants & offices, and is still expanding into new areas. YKK operates via 5 regional groups & Japan. I dont know what Donfik represents, maybe a branch manufactures name. But it appears on most of their products made today. Im assuming that that/those snaps came from a British fabric shop, possibly to compensate for a shortage. I have never seen that snap before on a helmet. Its probably a rare odd ball find! Come to think of it, The fabric weave looks a bit odd. Are you sure they aren't reproduction straps? Then again, photos are hard to judge by.
But from the photos, its looks like a repro, or if its original, could be from the local fabric shop back then. Before I shouldn't have said "British" I should have said "local shops". Because M1Cs were used in both Theaters of Operations. Farrell |

Hello Farrell , thanks so far. I'am taking the helmet in my hands almost every day, when it's a repro paratrooper helmet, it's done super !!! I don't "trust" the snaps either, never seen them only on zippers as you wrote. Let's wait for more comment.
Thanks again , kind regards , Paul |
